William was born in Togo, and was part of the first generation of visually impaired students to have access to education, provided by the Village of Light mission in the 1970’s. He became the first blind student in the country to graduate from high school, and went on to establish and lead Togo’s National Association of the Blind. William played a key roll in establishing the Lome Center for the Blind, and served as it’s first director.
He now resides in Langley, BC, with his wife and children, where he has earned a Masters of Arts degree, and advocates for the blind in his community.
William continues to be involved with the Lome Center for the Blind to empower the lives of the visually impaired in Togo.
